Privacy Policy

1. Overview

PromptGen ("we", "our", "the app") is an Android application that helps you discover, browse and copy AI prompts. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using PromptGen, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

PromptGen is designed to work without requiring an account or personal sign-in. We collect the following limited categories of information:

a) Information you provide voluntarily

• Prompt requests: if you submit a "Request a Prompt" form, we collect the title, description, and an optional email address you enter, solely to review and respond to your request.

b) Information collected automatically

• Usage & diagnostic data: our advertising and app-delivery partners (Google AdMob and Meta Audience Network, via AdMob mediation) may automatically collect device identifiers, approximate location, app usage events, and diagnostic data to serve and measure ads.
• Local app data: your favourite prompts are saved only in local storage on your device (using Android's shared preferences) and are never uploaded to our servers.

We do not collect your name, precise location, contacts, photos, or any government-issued identifiers. The app does not require account creation or login.

3. How we use information

• To operate core features: displaying prompts, categories, search results and the daily prompt.
• To respond to prompt requests you submit.
• To show relevant ads that help keep the app free, and to measure ad performance.
• To send you optional push notifications about new content (only if notification permission is granted).
• To maintain, secure and improve the app.

4. Third-party services

PromptGen uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

We do not use Firebase or any Google Analytics SDK in this app. Prompt content, categories, and settings are served from our own backend API and are not shared with third parties beyond the ad partners above.

5. Advertising & personalization

The app displays banner ads and optional rewarded video ads through Google AdMob, which may use Meta Audience Network as a mediation partner. These partners may use device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID) to serve ads that are more relevant to you and to measure their effectiveness. You can opt out of interest-based advertising or reset your advertising ID at any time in your device settings under Settings → Privacy → Ads.

6. Data storage & retention

Favourite prompts and app preferences are stored locally on your device and are removed automatically if you uninstall the app. Prompt requests you submit (title, description, optional email) are stored on our backend server only for as long as needed to review and action the request, after which they may be deleted.

7. App permissions

• Internet: required to load prompts, images and settings from our backend, and to display ads.
• Notifications: optional, used to alert you about new prompts or app updates. You can disable this anytime in system settings.

PromptGen does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or file storage.

8. Children's privacy

PromptGen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your choices & rights

• You can clear your locally saved favourites at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
• You can disable notification permissions from your device settings.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising via your device's ad settings.
• You can request deletion of any prompt request data you submitted by contacting us below.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
